Meghan Markle chatted with fellow mum’s over the weekend, as she carried out a surprise virtual visit with MomsRising, which offers support to mums who are feeling the effects of unemployment, lack of childcare and health issues because of the Covid crisis. During the video call she offered parents practical advice and a listening ear, and even spoke about her own experience as a mother.
Meghan, who is currently pregnant with her second child, revealed how her son 23-month-old son Archie views her and husband Prince Harry as “superheroes”.
When chatting to the group, the Duchess reminded them to see themselves through their children’s eyes whenever they are experiencing self-doubt.
This comment was well received by the other mum’s, according to the organisations executive director and CEO, Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner.
After the event, she told Hello magazine: “The meeting with Prince Harry and Meghan was a huge boost for MomsRising members, some of whom are struggling without jobs, child care, paid leave, health care, and other essentials during the pandemic.”
She continued: “The Duke and Duchess were kind, compassionate, and incredibly supportive, both on a personal level and of the policies that would help get their lives back on track.
“The Duchess also reminded us that, especially in times of self-doubt, we should take the opportunity to see ourselves through our children’s eyes.
“Because to our children, we’re superheroes. That really resonated with so many of us.”
MomsRising is a grassroots organisation that works to achieve economic security for all mums, women and families in the US.

They have become a lifeline to women who were badly affected by the pandemic.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex included MomsRising on their Archewell Foundation’s list of women’s groups to support in honour of International Women’s Day, which fell on March 8.
Meghan has long been a champion for women’s rights and was a vocal supporter of the cause long before she met Prince Harry.
When she was just 11, she famously complained to Procter and Gamble about a sexist soap advert.

The advert used the slogan “women all over America are fighting pots and pans”, and Meghan protested at the use of the word “women” and said she wanted the company to change it to the word “people”.
As well as writing to the soap manufacturer, Meghan also sent letters to civil rights lawyer Gloria Allred, First Lady Hillary Clinton and Nick News anchor Linda Ellerbee.
The journalist quickly picked up on the story and sent a camera crew to interview her.
Speaking on TV, Meghan said: “I don’t think it’s right for kids in America growing up thinking that mum does everything.
“It’s always mum does this, and mum does that.”
Mrs Clinton also responded to her and gave her words of encouragement.
The multinational corporation complied with her request, and later altered the advert.
Recalling the event during a speech for International Women’s Day in 2015, Meghan said: “It was at that moment that I realised the magnitude of my actions.
“At the age of eleven I had created my small level of impact by standing up for equality.”
