Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their second child, it’s been confirmed. But what will the new royal baby be named? Alfie and Alexandra lead the bookies’ favourites, while there’s honourable mentions for Charles, Florence, and Arabella.

Harry and Meghan are preparing to welcome their second child to the family, after it was revealed that the Duchess is pregnant once again.

The new baby will be a younger brother or sister to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, who was born in May 2019.

The former royals shared a black and white picture of themselves, with Prince Harry laying his hand on Meghan’s head, while she cradled her bump.

Harry and Meghan quit their roles as senior members of the Royal Family in March 2020, but the new baby will still be eighth in line to the UK throne.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Huge congratulations to Harry and Meghan on the news of their pregnancy – of course all attention will now turn to the name game and as things stand it’s Alfie and Alexandra leading the way in the betting.”

He added: “Archie was a modern twist on a traditional name, so it’s no surprise Charles/Charlie are up there as things stand at 5/1 apiece.”
