Jessica took to Instagram to accuse Meghan’s critics of racism. The Sussexes have faced a backlash after it emerged they took four private jets in 11 days despite lecturing the public on saving the planet.
Jessica posted: “When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out. When that person is your friend and your family, you call those critics what they truly are. Shame on you, you racist bullies.
“Three years of undeserved hate and abuse. It’s enough.”
She is the latest celebrity to defend Meghan amid the private jet drama.
Pop star Pink accused people of “bullying” the royal in a tweet.
And US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres insisted Meghan and Harry were only “trying to make the world better”.
She tweeted: “Portia and I met Prince Harry and Meghan in England to talk about their work on wildlife conservation.
“They were the most down-to-earth, compassionate people. Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you’re trying to do is make the world better.”
Jameela Jamil, who featured as one of the 15 inspirational women on Meghan’s Vogue cover, said: “Ugh. Dear England and English press, just say you hate her because she’s black, and him for marrying a black woman and be done with it God dammit.
“Your bullying is so embarrassing and obvious. You’ve all lost your marbles. It’s 2019. Grow up.”
Meanwhile Sir Elton John waded into the row on Monday, admitting that he organised Meghan and Harry’s gas-guzzling private jet to France and paid to make sure the flight was carbon neutral.
The royal couple stayed at the Rocket Man singer’s villa in Nice days after another luxury holiday in Ibiza to celebrate Meghan’s 38th birthday.
He tweeted: “I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week.

“Prince Harry’s Mother, Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends.
“I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death.
“After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home.
“To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight.
“To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint.
“I highly respect and applaud both Harry and Meghan’s commitment to charity and I’m calling on the press to cease these relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis.”
Meghan and Harry opted to fly by private plane despite being vocal on environmental issues.
In an interview in the September issue of Vogue guest-edited by Meghan, Harry pledged to have a maximum of two children to help save the planet.
And in June they preached to their Instagram followers that “every choice, every footprint, every action makes a difference”.
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has called on the royal couple to “practise what they preach” or “shut up”.
Taking to Twitter this morning, he said: “It’s not ‘racist’ or ‘bullying’ to criticise Meghan & Harry for preaching about the environment then jumping on endless private planes. It’s calling out hypocrisy.
“They should either shut up with the preaching or practise what they preach.”
And journalist Dan Wootton said: “So if we are to follow Harry, Meghan and Elton’s logic re offsetting carbon emissions with cold hard cash, we could enter a world where only the mega wealthy are allowed to fly in the future.
“That’s elitist and wrong. At least Greta Thurnberg practices what she preaches.”
