A royal biographer has claimed this week that Meghan may not ever make a return to the UK as she “simply doesn’t care” what British people think. The Duchess of Sussex, 40, has “no intention” of coming back to London because she sees Britain as a “lost cause”, author Tom Bower said. He told the Sun: “Meghan’s ultimate destination is unclear, but she certainly has the backing to make a bid to star as an American politician.

“In parallel, Britain is a lost cause for the Sussexes. In truth, I suspect Meghan no longer cares whether she is welcome in London. She has no intention of returning.”

The Sussexes’ relationship with the Royal Family has been strained for years, worsening after Prince Harry and Meghan decided to leave behind royal duties.

Despite this, it appears Harry and Meghan at least had a good relationship with Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

Meghan revealed in November the couples went on a night out in Toronto in 2016 before the Sussexes made their relationship public.

Speaking to her friend Ellen DeGeneres in a surprise talk show interview, Meghan said: “He came to see me in Toronto and our friends and his cousin Eugenie and now her husband Jack, they came as well, and the four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple.

“It was a post-apocalypse theme, so we had all this very bizarre costuming on, and we were able to just have one fun final night out.”

It’s clear Eugenie remains close to Harry – they were seen together at the Super Bowl in the US last week.

The royal pair were pictured together in the stands – although were without Meghan and Eugenie’s husband Jack.

According to royal expert and biographer Duncan Larcombe, Eugenie publicly supporting Harry at the Super Bowl shows she is “breaking ranks” from the rest of the royals.

He told OK!: “The royals have stayed quite consistent and firm when it comes to Harry and Meghan, as we’ve seen.

“Eugenie is breaking ranks from the rest of the royals by being seen so publicly to endorse Harry and Meghan in their new life. It endorses what they said about the royals.

“There are those that think that Eugenie is Harry’s only hope of him being brought back in should things not work out in paradise, so at least he is talking to someone in the Royal Family. By seeing Eugenie there, it looks like the only link he still has with his family.”

According to royal expert and biographer Robert Jobson, Harry and Eugenie have always been close – and Eugenie refuses to “abandon” her cousin.

He told the Mirror: “Ever since they were children messing around on the slopes of Klosters, Switzerland, they struck up a loving empathy.

“Now Harry is married and settled in the US and his relationship with his father, Charles, and brother, William, is fractured, Eugenie – who is close to the Queen – is one of his only connections to the royal family. She refuses to abandon him.”
