Richard from Nottingham rang into the LBC show to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine and argued he does not need to take the jab because he has worked across Asia and does regular yoga which has helped with his immune system. A stunned Nick Ferrari could not believe what he was hearing and took the caller to task stating his choices affected people around him and ridiculed his belief he had a “perfect” immune system. The two sides yelled and argued with each other which concluded with Richard branding the UK a “cult” and exclaiming he was happy to be moving to China to escape.

Richard called up the show and told Mr Ferrari he had spent 12 years working in Asia as a teacher and when the pandemic broke out he was in Kuala Lumpur.

He revealed he continued to travel around the region to Singapore and Bangkok and therefore concluded he has a “perfectly functioning” immune system so did not need to take the vaccine.

Mr Ferrari quizzed his position and asked whether Richard took things like malaria tablets or other vaccines for the places he visited.

Richard told the show he did not and repeated he had a perfectly good immune system.

The radio host was taken back at the statement and pointed out to Richard those who make up the 127,000 people who have died in the UK may have also thought they had good immune systems.

The conversation began to get heated as Richard wanted not to be put in hospital if he caught the disease to which Mr Ferrari said: “So we will leave you to die on the streets?”

Richard then said he had been doing yoga for 21 years which kept him healthy.

Mr Ferrari bluntly replied: “I don’t care if you’re doing yoga as you’re talking to me now, 1,979 people yesterday contracted Covid and that is still a lot of people.

“If there are people with your mindset Richard, and I feel confident to take you on because I feel we are the same sort of age… if enough people behave in your selfish way Richard we won’t make the June [restriction end date].

“Because if you get ill, and I wish you nothing but good health, you will go to the hospital and you will need a ventilator to turn you on your front and on your back and they will fight very hard to save your life.

“And you’ve been too selfish because, and I quote, I do yoga and I have a perfect immune system.”

The pair furiously argued about whether or not taking the vaccine was a selfish act as Mr Ferrari said millions were desperate for the vaccine and Richard claims he could survive with his immune system alone.

Richard angrily concluded: “This country feels like a bloody cult, I am out of here in September I cannot wait.”

He revealed he had a job offer in China and would be going later this year without a vaccine to which Mr Ferrari quipped the country was “quite keen” to have a vaccine following a “little” break out in a place called Wuhan.
