Pippa Middleton and James Matthews welcomed little Arthur on October 15, 2018. Pippa gave birth at St Mary’s Lindo Wing, just like her older sister Kate, Duchess of Cambridge. In her blog for Waitress Weekend, ‘Fitness with Pippa Middleton’, she opens up about motherhood.
In the column, she documented how she stayed fit during her pregnancy, and shared tips for expectant mums.
Now, she’s continuing the column and has shared how she’s incorporated little Arthur into her gym routine.
She said: “Now that Arthur is 11 months old and more mobile, I have been trying to come up with different activities to do with him.
“I needed to find something more than just park walks in the pram.”
She turned to her favourite pastime: exercise, and began incorporating Arthur.
Pippa wrote: “Our local baby gym has been a saving grace.
“It’s a big space full of fun, soft objects, playmats, stairs, balls, swings, mini trampolines and more to stimulate and physically engage babies and toddlers.
Pippa, 36, explained that in addition to free play, there are classes with “structured activities that help promote movement, balance and strength.”
She said the routine is good for the baby as well as her.
Pippa wrote: “Arthur burns lots of energy in this safe environment and learns many physical skills.
“I have also noticed him building his confidence with each visit.”
Pippa has previously spoken out about how she started Arthur exercising in pools at about four months old.
She said: “Starting my son Arthur swimming at four months old has given him confidence and enjoyment in the water.
“He’s now six months old, and swimming is one of our favourite activities.
“The exercise helps guarantee sound daytime sleeps, and the movement has improved his digestion.”
Pippa added that swimming is fun for both mother and son: “Water activity is a great form of exercise you can do with your baby.”
