Police and paramedics block Bolton road after cyclist hit by bus

A road has been shut off with a huge police response after a cyclist was hit by a bus. Police and paramedics were called to Vernon Street to reports of a “serious traffic incident”. Motorists have been urged to avoid the area while the emergency services deal with the incident, reports Manchester Evening News. 

A spokeswoman for GMP has confirmed at at approximately 1.40pm today officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a bus on Vernon Street in Bolton.

“A scene is in place at Vernon Street and Prince Street and road closures are in place. The investigation is ongoing,” she added.

GMP Bolton North tweeted: “Please avoid the areas of Vernon St/Prince St, Bolton whilst we deal with a serious traffic incident.

“Emergency services will be on scene for the foreseeable future please find an alternative route.”
