The hunt for Richard Okorogheye switched to a forest area after officers discovered he took a taxi shortly after he was last seen. Richard’s family, who criticised the initial police response to the teenager’s disappearance, have been informed.

The 19-year-old has not been seen by relatives since he went missing from his home in west London, on March 22.

He suffers from sickle cell disease but did not take any medication with him. He needs regular blood transfusions.

Detectives have now established he took a taxi to Loughton, Essex.

He was filmed there on CCTV walking down a residential street towards Epping Forest.
