Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s docuseries will debut this week, with Netflix releasing a second trailer for Harry & Meghan on Monday. But will you be watching? Vote in our poll.
In the trailer, which dropped on Monday, the Duke of Sussex describes the “pain and suffering” of women marrying into the Royal Family, referencing his wife and mother, Princess Diana.
The promotional clip gives a quickfire account of the couple’s relationship with the Firm, media and public which ultimately led to Harry and Meghan moving to the US.
It opens with the news of the couple’s engagement and wedding, with Harry narrating: “It’s really hard to look back on it now and go, ‘What on earth happened?’”
The trailer cuts to Meghan saying “and then” before snapping her fingers and Harry continuing: “Everything changed.”
Harry continues: “There’s a hierarchy of the family, you know, there’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories. It’s a dirty game.
“The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution, this feeding frenzy. I was terrified, I didn’t want history to repeat itself. No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth.”
The latest insight comes after a first-look trailer was released on Thursday, December 1, which coincided with the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Boston tour.
The series is said to offer an insight into the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s side of their love story and why they stepped back from their royal duties. The official synopsis for the show explains: “The series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.”

In addition to hearing from Harry and Meghan, the six-part docuseries will feature insight from people close to the couple and historians. The synopsis adds: “With commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press.
“The series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.”
The couple signed their lucrative multi-year deal with the streaming giant shortly after their left their royal duties in 2020. At the time, Harry and Meghan said: “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us. [Netflix’s] unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”
