Charlotte and her elder brother both attend Thomas’s Battersea in south London. The Princess returns to class as a Year 2 pupil, while George is starting Year 4. In an attempt to ensure that their children have as normal an upbringing as possible, William and Kate have insisted Charlotte and George are not called by their Royal titles at school.

Instead both children use their parent’s title as their surname, as they bid to blend in with the crowd.

Instead of being addressed as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, Kate and William’s daughter goes by the name Charlotte Cambridge.

And the same applies to her brother, who is simply known as George Cambridge and not as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

Charlotte has a number of sweet nicknames, by which she is affectionately called.

One such moniker was revealed in a family video clip from 2019, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Royal Chelsea Flower show with their children.

William can be heard calling out to his daughter to come and give him a push, while sitting on a swing.

But instead of saying “Charlotte, the Duke calls for “Mignonette”.

The word is of French origin and can mean “sweet” or “cute”.

Kate has her own nickname for her daughter, which she revealed while on a last minute Christmas shopping trip a couple of years ago.

The Duchess and her two eldest children went for a quick shopping spree at the UK discount store, The Range, in Norfolk’s King’s Lynn.

Kate was overheard saying, “Get up, Poppet,” to Charlotte as she sat on the floor near George, according to an onlooker.

As for George, he reportedly can also go by the name of “Archie”, according to The Sun.
