Queues began to form in the early hours and built steadily throughout the morning ahead of the 10am opening. The five-floor building features three food venues including a Disney-themed cafe, a Disney shopping area, a beauty studio and Hogwarts Wizarding World section. Spanning 160,000 square feet, it is the biggest of the high street retailer’s 365 stores across Europe and the US.

Shoppers Helen Palmer and Rachel Roberts from Kingsnorton, Birmingham, were in the queue.
Helen said: “ I love the value for money.”
Rachel added “ I love the quirky finds. Last time you went to Primark I got a Alice in Wonderland purse for 50p!”
Primark’s director of new business development, Tim Kelly said: “Our customers can expect a great experience at Primark Birmingham High Street.

The store employs more than 1,000 people, and has seen the creation of 500 new jobs.
