Shukri Walker alleges she was in Tramp nightclub in 2001 and saw the Duke of York with Virginia Giuffre and his friend Ghislaine Maxwell. Ms Giuffre’s legal team has already made requests for witness accounts from a number of individuals including Ms Walker.

Lisa Bloom, who is representing Ms Walker, said in a statement: “I am proud to represent Shukri Walker, who has bravely stepped forward as a witness and encourages others who may have information to do so as well.

“She is willing to do the deposition Giuffre’s team is seeking.”

Ms Giuffre’s team is also seeking witness accounts from Andrew’s former equerry Robert Olne.

Meanwhile, lawyers for the Duke want to question his accuser’s husband Robert Giuffre and her psychologist Dr Judith Lightfoot as part of the civil sex case.

Ms Giuffre is suing the Duke in the US for allegedly sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager and claims she was trafficked by convicted sex offender Epstein to have sex with the royal when she was 17 and a minor under US law.

Andrew has strenuously denied the allegations.

Ms Giuffre claims Andrew had sex with her against her will at Maxwell’s London home.

The Duke is also alleged to have sexually abused Ms Giuffre during a visit to Epstein’s private island, Little St James, and a third time at the financier’s Manhattan mansion.

During his car crash BBC Newsnight interview in 2019, Andrew denied he slept with Ms Giuffre on three separate occasions when questioned by presenter Emily Maitlis.

He said one alleged encounter did not happen as he had taken his daughter, Princess Beatrice, to Pizza Express in Woking for a party and they spent the rest of the day together.

The Duke said the same alleged encounter was factually wrong as he had a medical condition at the time which meant he did not sweat, after Ms Giuffree claimed he sweated heavily as they danced at Tramp nightclub.

Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend and a friend of Andrew, was convicted in the US on December 29 of procuring teenage girls for Epstein to abuse and will be sentenced this summer.

Earlier this month, the Queen stripped Andrew of his royal patronages and honorary military roles as the monarchy distanced itself from the Duke ahead of potentially damaging developments in the lawsuit which is scheduled to go to trial in the autumn.

It comes as the monarch celebrates her Platinum Jubilee this year.

The development came after a judge threw out a motion by Andrew’s lawyers to dismiss the case, ruling it can go to trial.

Calls have also been made for Andrew to lose his York dukedom, which was given to him by his mother on his wedding day in 1986.
