Prince Charles and Camilla left their residence to carry out a visit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess arrived at the hospital earlier today to thank volunteers who are undertaking clinical trials for COVID-19 vaccinations.
At the hospital, the royal couple was joined by Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
A video shows Prince Charles and Mr Hancock speaking while keeping social distance and wearing surgical masks.
This engagement was carried out in accordance with Government guidelines on coronavirus, which state that during lockdown people can travel for work if they can’t carry it out from home.
The Prince of Wales and Camilla’s visit took royal fans by surprise and follows weeks of video calls and engagements carried out remotely by the most prominent members of the Royal Family.
