The prince visited the Royal Mail in Cirencester to recognise the vital public services that the country’s postal workers provide, particilarly during the coronavirus pandemic and the days leading up to Christmas.

Charles was pictured in the sorting office while chatting to members of staff in Christmas-themed costumes, including one wearing a Santa Claus outfit and another dressed as an elf.

On Thursday, Prince of Wales revealed he will take the coronavirus vaccine when eligible during a visit to the Gloucestershire vaccination centre with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

The royal couple were in high spirits as they returned to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for the second time during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this key visit, Charles said he will get vaccinated against cocronavirus.

However, he added, he will need to wait for when he is eligible for the jab.

Charles told staff at the centre: “I think I am way down the list and will have to wait.”

He added: “I think I’ll have to wait for the AstraZeneca one before it gets to my turn. I’m some way down the list.”

The heir to the throne also said that, as he had suffered with Covid-19, he has antibodies for the virus.

As with his Royal Mail, Charles donned a fabric face covering – made by one of his charities, Turquoise Mountain, which helps protect heritage crafts in Myanmar.

This is a breaking story. More to follow…
