The heir to the throne was greeted by crowds in Pontypridd who have been affected by Storm Dennis over the past week. The River Taff, which flows through the south Wales town, reached its highest level in more than 40 years. Charles appeared to be in high spirits as he shook hands with people of all ages and chatted to them about how the floods had impacted the area.
His visit came he test drove Aston Martin’s new luxury SUV when he visits the car maker’s factory in Wales.
Charles got behind the wheel of the DBX when he toured the factory floor of the Aston Martin Lagonda plant in St Athan near Barry.
During the visit, the heir to the throne also met engineers working on different stages of the production process.
This included seat installation and the paint shop.
The prince is also the proud owner of an Aston Martin Volante convertible, which was a 21st birthday present from the Queen.
Later, Charles joined a reception to celebrate the new factory.
He met staff and apprentices and placed a wings badge on the front of a DBX.
This will be located in the reception area of the new Aston Martin facility.
