Prince George’s birth was shared with Queen Elizabeth II in unexpected way

Prince George celebrated his birthday on Saturday, with the young royal reaching the milestone of 10 but his birth all those years ago was actually shared with the then-monarch in an unusual way.

His birth was celebrated across the globe, but one person was lucky enough to find out that the future King had been welcomed safely into the world before anybody else.

Due to royal protocol, the late Queen Elizabeth II was the first one to know that Prince George had arrived.

It states that the late monarch found out the happy news via a specially encrypted phone, and would have been the very first call that Prince William made.

It stands under a royal rule that the reigning monarch is always notified first.

With George being a direct heir to the throne, the late Queen would have also been involved in another important task following his birth.

The monarch would have also had to give her royal approval of the little one’s name, which was two days later revealed as Prince George Alexander Louis.

After the call to George’s great-grandmother, William would have had to call some of the Middleton family members to let them know the happy news.

Later in the day, the public was informed that the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had welcomed their first child.

On Friday evening, the eve of his birthday, Kensington Palace released a brand-new portrait of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ eldest son.

Sat on the steps at Windsor Castle, the now-ten-year-old looked happy as he smiled towards the camera.

Shying away from the recent tradition of Princess Kate taking the released birthday pictures, the sweet picture was captured by photographer Millie Pilkington earlier this month.

The photo was shared by the Prince and Princess of Wales, as the proud parents prepared to celebrate their eldest son reaching double digits.

From across the Atlantic, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remained silent, opting not to publicly address their nephew’s big day.
