The Duke of Sussex, 36, returned to the UK for just over a week in order to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, on April 17. Speaking to Us Weekly, a royal source suggested Prince Harry and his father didn’t manage to resolve their issues.

“Unfortunately, Harry and Charles didn’t resolve their differences when Harry returned to the UK,” they said.

“They barely communicated.

“There definitely continues to be a huge wedge between the two.”

Prince Harry and Charles were briefly reunited during the funeral but, according to The Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers, Harry “didn’t have a chance” to sit down with his father privately during his nine-day visit.

However, it has been alleged that Prince Harry did sit down with his brother and father shortly after the funeral.

The relationship between Harry and his father has been strained since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the decision to step away from their roles as senior royals last year.

The relationship became especially strained after Harry claimed his father had “stopped taking my calls” in the run-up to Megxit during the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.

Harry added: “I will always love him, but there’s a lot of hurt that’s happened. And I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship.”

The insider added: “Charles is still fuming about Harry throwing shade at him and the royal family in the big interview and won’t let it drop.

“But to be honest, Harry didn’t go running back to Charles begging for forgiveness either.

“He still hasn’t forgiven his father for his lack of effort and support after he and Meghan decided to move.”

Although the relationship between Harry and Charles is still believed to be turbulent, Harry’s relationship with his brother seems to be on the mend.

Experts have warned there will be no “quick fix” to the situation.

Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK for the unveiling of a statue dedicated to his late mother, Princess Diana, this summer, although this has not been confirmed.
