Robert Jobson told Channel 5 that Princess Diana would refer to Prince Harry as GKH, an abbreviation of “Good King Harry” as she felt he would be “better equipped” for the role than his brother. Prince William is second in line to the throne behind his father Prince Charles while Prince Harry is sixth in line.

Mr Jobson said: “She used to refer to Harry as GKH, Good King Harry because she thought he would be better equipped for the role in the future than William.”

Royal commentator Angela Levin also addressed this in her book ‘Harry – Conversations with the Prince’.

Ms Levin wrote: “Harry’s seeming ability to cope, his ease with people and general gusto led Diana to believe that he would handle being king more easily than William.

“She even called him Good King Harry. Diana felt less confident in William.

Ms Levin went on to reference a quote from Princess Diana regarding Prince William: “‘William doesn’t want to be king and I worry about that. He doesn’t want his every move watched.'”

Royal commentator Emily Andrews told the Channel 5 documentary: “William always got preferential treatment because he was the heir to the heir and Diana made it always very clear that she wanted the two boys to be treated equally.”

Earlier this month, royal commentator Andrew Morton told ITV that Princess Diana would be enjoying the aftermath of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Mr Morton has published biographies of a number of royal figures including Princess Diana during his career.

Meghan and Harry: Diana 'would enjoy interview' says expert

The royal commentator told ITV: “I think the irony is she would be enjoying it.

“It is almost like Diana is getting her revenge from beyond the grave.

“Remember that she was the trailblazer in this, she put the boot into Prince Charles 20 odd years ago.

“She talked about wanting to be the Queen of people’s hearts, which prompted the Queen to get involved with their divorce.”

However, the royal biographer admitted Princess Diana would not be happy that Prince Harry and Prince William are feuding.

Mr Morton said: “She would want William and Harry to reconcile.”

He added: “Oprah was going to interview her and then Martin Bashir swooped in.”
