Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso co-authored the foreword of the annual report of Sentebale, the organisation they founded in April 2006. The message came with a picture showing the smiling princes standing next to each other.
While Prince Harry donned a baby blue shirt, Prince Seeiso wore a white shirt with a black jacket.
In the foreword for this year’s annual review, Harry and Seeiso spoke about how difficult the past 12 months have been for the charity, which had to change the way it was carrying out its work to protect the lives of its staff and people it supports in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Yet, the princes said in 2020 Sentebale was “needed more than ever”.
They wrote: “For our organisation, the past year hasn’t been easy.
“Our programming approach, which relies on people coming together in groups, was no longer possible.
“Yet we also understood that Sentebale was needed more than ever.
“And so, we innovated and evolved – finding new ways to support children and young people.
“Our experience in responding to the HIV/AIDS epidemic meant we already had the tools to act as a trusted information resource.
“Our role as a communicator was a valuable asset, enabling us to reach out and support communities when they needed it most.
“Despite limited resources, we are proud to say that Sentebale stepped up to meet the moment.
“This is a statement to our staff and volunteers – to their creativity, flexibility and passion.”
