Prince Harry opened up on how therapy affected his life during a summit he attended as the chief impact officer of BetterUp. The Duke of Sussex said the “moment” he started doing therapy “it opened his eyes” while discussing how mental fitness and coaching can be beneficial not just for individuals in their private lives but also for companies aiming for growth. Attending the Masters of Scale Summit alongside mental health and coaching firm BetterUp co-founder and CEO Alexi Robixhaux, Harry also said: “I was moving through life thinking there was only one way to live and therapy burst that bubble.

“Then, when I found my way to coaching, the next bubble burst, and all of a sudden I realised that now I have perspective and a great understanding of my value. I regained confidence that I never thought I had.” The Duke went on saying it was “exciting” to know the human potential of individuals, but added there is the need to “unlock that potential”. He added: “The only way we can do that is to individually grow ourselves, but also help the people we are responsible for grow as well.” The Duke of Sussex first opened up about his path to therapy in 2017, when he and his brother Prince William decided to be candid about the impact the untimely death of their mother Diana, Princess of Wales, had had on them. Since 2016, he has focused much of his work on breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and championing the importance of mental fitness for Army members.
