Kate Middleton officially opened the Young V&A
Prince William and Kate, the Princess of Wales are extremely “irritated” with Prince Harry over his plans for the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II, a family friend claimed.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are tipped to lead commemorations while the King and Queen remain in Scotland and observe the day alone.
But their efforts to focus on the British Royal Family continuing Queen Elizabeth II’s legacy could now obfuscated by Harry’s return to the UK the day before the anniversary.
The Duke of Sussex is now expected to be in London on September 7 to attend the WellChild Award. Harry has been a patron of the charity for seriously sick children since 2007.
With Harry potentially delivering a speech at the event, the Prince and Princess of Wales’s outing the following day could be overshadowed because of the Duke’s ongoing feud with the family.
Speaking to The Daily Beast, a source close to Kate and William said: “It is increasingly hard to work out what Harry wants to be and do.
“He was appointed to be a patron of WellChild because he was a member of the royal family.
“Now this is something that he apparently wants to carry on doing in his capacity as a private individual.
“William and Kate will be irritated, especially by the date, but will just ignore it. What else can they do?”
The couple’s relationship with the Duke broke down months before he and Meghan Markle announced their plans to step down from their official roles.
Harry first hinted at the frosty relationship with his brother during an interview with pal Tom Bradby during his and Meghan’s visit to South Africa in 2019.
In the interview, the Duke of Sussex said he and William were “on different paths,” while Meghan offered a first glimpse into her difficult relationship with the British press and royal aides.
In his memoir Spare, the Duke expanded on his struggling relationship with the Prince of Wales – going as far as claiming he was “knocked on the floor” during a verbal argument with William.
He also renewed allegations suggesting the Princess of Wales had made Meghan cry in the run-up to their wedding in 2018 after criticizing the dresses for the flower girls.
The two couples tentatively set their differences aside following the late Queen’s death, appearing together to thank mourners for their support and love.

But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared to sever the last links to the British Royal Family with their bombshell six-part Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan in December.
They once again claimed the institution offered them no help as they struggled with extensive media scrutiny.
Meghan also accused the Princess of Wales of being rather cold during their first meeting – admitting she was surprised when her attempt to greet her with a hug was not appreciated because Kate wasn’t a hugger.
However, her allegation was later refuted after a friend of the Princess insisted she “greets everyone with a big hug and kiss. It comes naturally to her.”
