Prince William’s “very different role” in the Royal Family may have an impact on his reunion with Prince Harry, an expert has claimed. Royal commentator Marlene Koenig spoke to Express.co.uk about the tension between the two brothers and how they are seeking to repair it. She warned that they would have to “understand” each other’s side of the story, and that this could take a “long time”.
Ms Koenig said: “I do think that once we’re finally free to leave our houses and get on planes again, Harry will go first.
“He’ll meet with his father, meet with his brother.
“I think it will take a long time for them to understand each other.
“Maybe some time for them to understand Harry’s decision and try to be supportive.”
She continued: “But understanding that William has a very different role to play, and he has to put that first.
“You always hear in dribs and drabs that they are communicating.
“That’s good, but you know what? That’s their business.
“We don’t really need to know that.”
Prince Harry and William's bond 'beyond repair' claims expert
Prince Harry was expected to return to the UK by the summer due to a slate of upcoming royal events.
The Duke of Sussex would then be able to participate in celebrations for the Queen’s 95th birthday and Prince Philip’s 100th.
Additionally, the unveiling of Princess Diana’s new statue was billed as a joint venture between the two brothers.
However, with the coronavirus pandemic travel restrictions and Meghan Markle’s confirmed pregnancy, there are doubts as to the likelihood of this happening.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams added that the Diana statue event would be an opportunity for the Cambridges and Sussexes to “present a united front”.
He told Express.co.uk: “Given the reports and rumours of a rift, there’s no doubt that an effort will be made to ensure that what is seen in public is extremely friendly.
“I am sure that will be the case – it usually is in public events.
“I’m sure that this will be well-planned, well-organised and that they will present a united front.”
