The Princess Royal is known to be one of the hardest-working members of the Royal Family and provides vital support to the crown. As the only daughter for Queen Elizabeth II, 95, Anne regularly steps up to aid Her Majesty, such as in the time following Prince Philip’s death in April, and now recently in the wake of her recent hospital visit.

The Princess Royal’s latest outing was detailed in a series of tweets from the Royal Family Twitter page.

Most recently, the 71-year-old undertook a day of engagements on behalf of the Firm in Somerset.

While in southwest England, the royal opened three establishments in the county including a local school expansion for special educational needs.

On Friday, Her Royal Highness opened the Sycamore Building at Fairmead School, in Yeovil.

While there, Anne met with staff and students from the school, which caters for children and young people with additional learning needs.

Accompanying an image of Anne overlooking a stall of baked goods, and an image of the princess smiling amid guests, the Royal Family Twitter account detailed the second item on the princess’ agenda.

They wrote: “The Princess opened @FoodWorks_SW in Weston-Super-Mare, a food and drink innovation centre used by businesses to test, develop and manufacture their products.”

While at the event, Her Royal Highness also met with individuals from North Somerset Council’s #NSTogether Partnership, who provided support to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The last item on her list of engagements for the day was the opening ceremony of the refurbished Winter Gardens and the new University Centre Weston.

While visiting the higher education site, Anne toured the facilities and met students and staff working in health and social care and musical theatre.

Her visits were met with delight from royal fans, with many of them expressing admiration for her hard work and number of appearances.

The plugging of her latest venture could be means of the Firm signifying that it is business as usual for other Royal Family members, while the Queen undertakes a period of rest.

Research carried out by SavoyStewart.co.uk in September found that Princess Anne had surpassed her brother Prince Charles, 72 when it came to the number of engagements she had carried out so far this year.

It comes as the Queen is set to take a short break from royal duties after a brief stay in hospital.

On Wednesday a statement was released by Buckingham Palace detailing that Her Majesty’s two-day trip to Northern Ireland had been cancelled.

The cancellation was said to be on doctors’ orders.

The Palace then later informed that Her Majesty had spent a night in King Edward VII’s Hospital in central London for “preliminary investigations”.

She was reported to have returned to Windsor on Thursday.

According to the Telegraph, the Palace has decided that the Queen will be accompanied by another member of the Royal Family on all future engagements, in case the sovereign needs to pull out for health reasons.
