The young royal celebrated her seventh birthday on May 2 and now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have thanked royal fans for their kind messages. Royal aides replied to the well-wishers who sent cards to Charlotte with a card featuring Princess Charlotte on the front.

The Duchess took the portrait of her daughter to honour the seven-year-old’s birthday near Anmer Hall, their Norfolk residence.

The Princess is seen with her brunette hair down over her shoulders as she sits cross-legged in a field of bluebells with a beaming smile.

The card read: “Thank you for the kind birthday message which you sent for Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday.

“Princess Charlotte had a lovely day and your message was greatly appreciated by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who send you their very best wishes.”

A picture of the card was shared on Instagram by an Instagram user from Germany who was one of the lucky recipients.

In another picture taken on the same day, the Cambridge’s new cocker-spaniel puppy Orla is being cuddled by the Princess in the field.

Orla is from a litter raised by James Middleton, Kate’s brother and she was gifted to the Duke and Duchess following the passing of their previous dog Lupo.

The Princess is currently spending her summer holidays preparing for a new school year at a new school.

Both she and her older brother Prince George are leaving Thomas’s Battersea to start at a new school in Berkshire.

Over the next few weeks it is thought that the Cambridge family will embark on their move from Kensington Palace.

They family are set to move to the Windsor Estate into the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage.

According to PEOPLE the move to Windsor is “mostly down to schooling” though their new location will also put them 10 minutes away from the Queen’s offices at Windsor Castle.

The family will also be much closer to Kate Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton who live in Bucklebury.

It is hoped that the privacy and security of the Windsor estate will allow the children to have more of a normal upbringing where they can play outside and enjoy other people’s company without the world watching.
