Princess Charlotte vs Mia Tindall: Which young royal will be Princess Beatrice bridesmaid?

Princess Beatrice, 31, will marry Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at St James’s Palace on May 29. The ceremony will be held in the historic Chapel Royal where many royal brides have wed before. While Beatrice’s big day will be less high profile than other royal weddings, she is expected to stick to tradition and have bridesmaids and a page boy.

Young members of the royal family are traditionally picked to fill these roles at royal weddings.

In recent years Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William’s two eldest children – Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, four, have held key roles at a string of royal weddings.

Their youngest Prince Louis will be two by the time the next royal wedding comes around and the toddler may also be deemed old enough to be part of Beatrice’s bridal party.

According to the bookies, Princess Charlotte is the most likely young royal to be picked as Beatrice’s bridesmaid.

  • Princess Beatrice wedding to have ONE thing Meghan Markle didn’t

While it is not confirmed how many bridesmaids Beatrice will have, she is unlikely to want to copy her sister exactly.

As Bea’s wedding will be more pared-back she may pick just one royal family member to be a bridesmaid as opposed to two.

Seeing as Princess Charlotte has already been a bridesmaid at three royal weddings, Beatrice may decide to give Mia Tindall a second chance to shine.

However, the Cambridge tots are still hot favourites to land the special roles.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “With the date for Beatrice’s big day now being confirmed, attention will turn to the finer details and the early signs point towards key roles for George, Louis and Charlotte.”

A string of royal family members are expected to attend Beatrice’s big day including the Queen and perhaps even Prince Philip.

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are almost certain to be wedding guests, however, it is not yet clear if Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will attend.

The Sussexes have settled in Canada following their withdrawal from royal life and hope to carve out a more peaceful existence for themselves and their nine-month-old son Archie Harrison.

If the family do attend Princess Beatrice’s wedding then there’s a chance Archie could be used to help heal the family rift.

While Archie will be one at the time of Beatrice’s wedding, the toddler could still play a ceremonial role with the help of his parents.
