Princess Eugenie, 31, and Princess Beatrice, 32, are extremely close and the sisters are rarely seen without one another at royal events. While neither Eugenie nor Beatrice are working members of the monarchy they are much-loved members of the Windsor clan and will be among the 30 guests at Prince Philip’s funeral tomorrow afternoon.
The coronavirus pandemic has put an end to the Royal Family’s official schedule of reunions for a second year running with events such as Trooping the Colour cancelled again.
The last event Eugenie attended with her sister was Beatrice’s wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on July 17 last year.
The ceremony was held at All Saints Chapel in Windsor and was attend by a select number of Royal Family members including the Queen and the late Duke of Edinburgh.
Only a handful of official photos from Bea’s big day were shared with the public at the time and while Eugenie did not feature in them she was among key guests at the event.
A lot has happened to both of the sisters since their last public outing.
while Beatrice has been settling into married life in London with her husband Edo and stepson Wolfie, Eugenie has become a mum.
On February 9, Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed a son to the world.
The couple named their baby boy August Philip Hawke in a touching nod to the Duke of Edinburgh who was in hospital at the time.
Eugenie is currently living at Frogmore Cottage just up the road from Windsor Castle but it is not known whether Philip got to meet his new great-grandson August before his death on Friday last week.
Eugenie is a keen social media user and on Wednesday shared an adorable tribute to Prince Philip on Instagram.
The post featured two photos of Eugenie with Philip over the years and was written in the style of a letter.
The message read: “Dearest Grandpa, We all miss you.
”You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days. ”

Eugenie added: “People remember sitting next to you at a dinner, or shaking your hand once, who remember you saying hello in passing, or remember how much their DofE award meant to them.
“I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy.
“I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day.
“I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer. ”
The touching tribute continued: “I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
