Princess Eugenie will no longer “fill in” for her cousin Prince Harry when it comes to royal duties, a royal commentator has said. The Queen’s granddaughter gave birth to her first baby on February 9 and is reportedly “stepping back” from the monarchy as a result. Royal biographer Angela Levin spoke to The Royal Beat – available on True Royalty TV from Saturday 13 – about what could be expected from the new mother in the future.

She said: “[Eugenie] has announced that she’s stepping further back away from the royals to be a mother.

“She wants to look after her baby exclusively.

“She might turn up at smart events like Trooping the Colour but she’s not going to take on anymore responsibility.

“She’s not going to fill in what Harry is no longer doing.”
