Following The Princess of Wales’ historic and controversial BBC Panorama interview, the Queen’s sister reportedly severed all ties to the late Princess Diana. Once a loyal supporter, her tune changed quickly and she even urged her children not to interact with Diana, it is claimed.

Margaret told her children that she did not want them fraternizing with the enemy, according to Craig Brown, a British author on the Royal Family.

He said: “She wouldn’t let her children talk to her.”

Margret was- also described as so angry and upset that she threw out every magazine with Diana’s picture on the cover.

Mr Brown said: “She wasn’t keen on others misbehaving.

“Broadcasting your feelings to the world without a warning was considered an amazing kind of betrayal even if what Diana was alleging was true.

“Margaret was very unforgiving.

“She wouldn’t even have magazines with Diana’s face on the cover nearby.

“She would turn them over.”

Mr Brown added: “Even if Diana had lived for another 30 years, she wouldn’t have spoken to her.”

All of Diana’s correspondence to Margaret and the Queen Mother was also burned by the Queen’s sister after the BBC interview, it is claimed.

Even after her death, Margaret is said to have resented Diana.

Speaking about her funeral, Mr Brown said: “Margaret offered only the most cursory of nods, almost as though she were warding off a fly.
