The Princess of Wales has powered on with her packed schedule of pre-Christmas engagements amid the damning allegations put forward by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their Netflix docu-series. The Princess stunned in a maroon coat dress as she arrived at Westminster Abbey, where she will host the Christmas carol service. Her wine-coloured gown was paired with a matching clutch bag and a set of dazzling drop earrings.

This year’s carol service has been dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who passed in September earlier this year.

As host, the Princess of Wales is expected to pay tribute to the late Queen and honour the work of community leaders across the UK, with the service to be broadcast as part of a Christmas Eve special on ITV1 – Royal Carols: Together at Christmas.

The service will also be attended by King Charles, the Queen Consort, the Prince of Wales and other senior members of the Royal Family.

The royal engagement comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released the second instalment of their explosive docu-series.

New revelations from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have coincided with the special festive carol service.

In the Netflix series, Prince Harry has discussed his strained relationship with members of the Royal Family, chiefly his brother Prince William.

Recalling a family meeting at Sandringham House, the Duke of Sussex said: “It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that simply weren’t true and my grandmother quietly sit there and sort of take it all in.”

However, Buckingham Palace has refused to comment on any content within the Netflix series.

Meanwhile, Kensington Palace has continued to promote the Westminster Abbey service.

On Wednesday, the official Twitter account for the Prince and Princess of Wales released a short clip of Kate in a festive jumper as she decorated a Christmas tree.

The video was captioned: “Final touches ahead of the Together at Christmas carol service tomorrow.”

A second post, released after the final half of the Netflix series had premiered, read: “Getting ready to welcome our Together at Christmas guests, celebrating those who have gone above and beyond in their communities and paying tribute to Her Late Majesty The Queen.”
