Queen launches own brands of tomato ketchup and brown sauce

If you ever dipped a chip in some tomato ketchup and thought, ‘well, this just doesn’t taste quite REGAL enough’, then now you are in luck.

None other than Her Majesty has now launched two new condiments, which are expensive enough to probably cost much more than the food you’ll serve it with.

Tomato ketchup and brown sauce are now on sale at the royal Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where the queen famously likes to spend Christmas.

Described as ‘ideal for breakfast or any time of the day’, the ketchup costs an £6.99 for 295g, compared to Sainsbury’s own ketchup, which costs just 60p for 460 grammes.

The sauce, which is flavoured with dates, apple juice and spices, comes in a glass jar with a Royal Estate label.

It states on the bottle: ‘A real family favourite, packed full of tomato and lightly spiced, this ketchup is delightful.

‘Vibrant and fruity, this ketchup can be enjoyed any time of the day, perfect to add flavour to a dish.’

A step up even from M&S in the posh leagues, the Queen is also selling a brown sauce for the same price, with the description: ‘a tomato based sauced packed with vinegar and spices’.

And if you wanted to replace even more in your cupboard with the royal seal of approval, a beer brand was also launched last year with people able to buy the refreshment produced at local Barsham Brewer using barley from the gardens there.

People could opt for a 4.3% Best Bitter or a 5% Golden IPA.

Loyal subjects can also pick up a Buckingham Palace gin, either in a standard or sloe variety.
