The prizes at the event included four categories, rewarding businesses investing in sustainability and contributing to helping with climate change. The former journalist presented four awards at the ceremony for the best projects from 2020 which were designed to improve sustainability.
Laurent Perea, CEO of Capgemini Invent, commented on the award: “These awards are intended to promote awareness of these challenges in the business environment.
“By being sustainable, companies are better able to attract customers, investors and talent.”
Repsol received the Green generation Prize for their project for the creation, storage and distribution of clean energy through technological innovation.
The Smart Mobility Prize was awarded to Airbus for creating sustainable options for travelling goods and people.
This was Queen Letizia’s first public engagement since she said goodbye to her daughter Leonor on August 30 when she left for UWC Atlantic in Wales.
Princess Leonor is the heir presumptive to the Spanish throne and the eldest daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
The Princess has started a two-year International Baccalaureate program at the college.
According to the Royal Household, Princess Leonor, will continue her public commitments as heir to the Spanish throne whilst being in the UK.
She was also joined by Princess Alexia of the Netherlands.
Queen Letizia and Felipe VI of Spain tied the knot in 2004 in the Almudena Cathedral at the Royal Palace of Madrid.
They have two daughters Leonor and Sofia, born in 2005 and 2007.
Felipe and Letizia became King and Queen after Juan Carlos’s abdication in 2014.

Queen Letizia had a busy life before becoming a member of the Spanish Royal Family as previously she was a journalist for ABC and a news anchor at CNN and Televisión Española.
