Queen solemn as she inspects horses and carriage of beloved late Prince Philip

In pictures released today, the Queen can be seen visiting her horses this afternoon. Dressed in a grey raincoat, the solemn Queen also inspected the carriage of her belated husband today. The Queen has rarely been seen on her own since losing her beloved husband.

In the pictures, the Queen was seen standing pensively as she inspected the horses in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

However, in one picture, Her Majesty can been seen beaming as she views the horses in the rain.

She has not, however, been seen riding since last year.

The Queen has long loved horses, which was one of the hobbies she and Philip shared together.

In a touching moment to show his own love for horses, Philip’s gloves, hat and whip were placed on his carriage as it was driven in during the ceremony.

As he progressed in age, Philip took up carriage driving due to an arthritic wrist.

He also helped champion the sport to such an extent that it was given a three-day event at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

He was a regular competitor in the competition after taking it up in his 50s.
