The Queen was unable to hold back her grief as she began crying during her late husband, Prince Philip’s funeral. The Queen was seen wiping away tears as emotion overwhelmed the head monarch. The Queen was noticeably absent from the Royal Family as they followed behind the Duke of Edinburgh’s landrover.

Future King, Prince Charles lead the family alongside Princess Anne, with his brother Prince Andrew and Prince Edward walking behind. 

The Queen’s display of emotion touched the hearts of some viewers who took to social media after the “heartbreaking” display. 

One Twitter user wrote: “Such an emotional occasion.

“I’ve shed a few tears especially when they played God Save the Queen.”

Another added: “I feel very sad for the Royal Family today.

“The Queen has lost her lifetime partners of 73 years, I shed a tear for you.”

Another wrote: “The Queen sitting alone, isolated in her grief is just heartbreaking to watch.”

Despite the solemn occasion, some viewers voiced their appreciation at the heartwarming farewell to the Duke of Edinburgh.

“I am shedding a tear for Lilibet and Phil the Greek but I am so proud this is part of being British.
