Revealed: Could these be Archie’s godparents? Meghan and Harry’s secret ‘will come out’

Speaking on the Royal Rota, the author and former Queen of Fleet Street claimed Meghan Markle’s and Prince Harry’s secret will soon be revealed as the royal couple prepares to baptise their first child. Ms Pollard claimed Baby Archie’s godparents could come from the Duchess of Sussex’ side of close friends, just as the sons and daughters of her close friends Benita Litt and Jessica Mulroney were among her bridesmaid at hers and the Duke of Sussex’ royal wedding.

She said: “We have no idea who’s going to be the godparents.

“We have no idea who is attending. We’re told there are 25 people, are they going to be royal?

“If you think about the bridesmaids at the wedding, a lot of those were from Meghan’s early friends, her goddaughters and close friends.

“So, it’s possible that some of them are there. If you’ve really spent years that really matter to you with friends and there are close girlfriends relationships, you would want to do that.

“But if you’re a godmother or a godfather, it will eventually come out.”

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will have a lavish royal christening at Windsor Castle tomorrow.

The exclusive service will be attended by no more than 25 guests but neither the Queen nor Prince Philip will be among them, a royal expert has claimed.

Last month it was announced Queen Elizabeth II would not attend baby Archie’s christening due to a prior royal engagement.

Since then there has been speculation as to whether her husband, Prince Philip, would make the royal event.

While the Duke of Edinburgh retired from royal duty in 2017, he has made appearances for several family occasions since – including Lady Gabriella’s Windsor royal wedding in May.

However, it seems neither the Queen nor Philip will make the christening for this touching reason, a royal expert has claimed.

The Queen has been in Scotland this week, attending to royal duty north of the border.

Her Majesty hosted an annual garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Wednesday.

Following her time in Scotland, the Queen will head to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk where she is expected to spend some downtime with Duke.

Since his retirement, Philip has spent an increasing amount of time at Wood Farm, Norfolk away from the royal bubble.

He is likely to skip Archie’s christening to spend time with the Queen who will stop by there on her way back down to Windsor.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “It has been reported that the Duke of Edinburgh won’t be attending Archie’s christening as he and the Queen will be spending the weekend together at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate.

“The Queen had this planned after Holyrood Week which is so significant north of the border.

“It has been known for some time that she would be unable to attend.”
