Sue, from Scunthorpe, who has a teen son James, swapped lives with wealthy businessman Nick. In a touching show of respect at the episode’s end, Nick offered to help her set up a firm.

He said: “My friend runs a food company and she advises people on how to get going in the food industry and I’ve arranged [for us] to go and see them and have a food business consultation. The aim is to basically give you the opportunity to do the food project that you’ve talked about and we’d also like to buy you a food wagon or van.”

He offered to help her get her business off the ground, to which she burst into tears and promised she wasn’t afraid of hard work. “I don’t know what to say to you both,” Sue said. “I just want to give you both a big hug.”

According to Birmingham Live, she then added to the camera: “I’m going to grab this opportunity with both hands and run with it.

“I can’t tell you how over the moon I am.”

The Channel 5 show also made headlines last week after a couple who appeared on the show – who were left with just £71 a week – were offered a package worth £30,000 by a wealthy couple.

At the end of the episode, Matt and Andrea Callanan, from Cardiff, revealed a plan they had put together to help the Burrows succeed. Ant and Tash Burrows were shocked when the Callanans told them: “What I’d like to do, I’d like to help you with your business and then I’d really like to help you with your mindsets. That package is for the two of you and is worth £30,000.”

The gesture reduced Tash to tears, with Ant also becoming emotional.

“It’s our honour to help you,” Andrea told the couple. “This is the start of a big journey.”

Tash later said that she was “blown away” by the gesture, with Ant adding that this was a “turning point” for the family.
