A royal author has revealed she “talked a great deal” to Prince Harry about his mental health as she interviewed him for her 2018 biography about the Duke of Sussex. Angela Levin, author of ‘Harry: A Biography of a Prince’, made the admission after the 38-year-old duke confessed to never being “looked after mentally before Meghan [Markle] came along”.

But Ms Levin described his confession as “absolutely wrong” as she recalled her interview with the Prince.

Ms Levin told GB News: “I interviewed him for my biography of him in 2017.

“We talk a great deal about his mental health.”

She added that it was at the end that he had “started going out with Meghan” and recalled that she asked Harry whether Meghan knew “anything about it [his mental health]” and if she had “encouraged” or “helped” him.

She added that Harry said “absolutely not”, adding that she was “not involved at all”.

She also noted that, in 2013, Prince William was also “trying very hard” to get Harry to “go and see someone”.

Recalling her interview with Harry, she noted that the prince revealed he had “turned it down”, adding that he did get “very very panic-striken”.

Ms Levin also spoke of the charity, Heads Together, which was set up by William, Harry and Kate, allowing the trio to be “working on mental health”.

After Harry’s words that he had “never heard about being looked after mentally before Meghan” Ms Levin said this was the Duke “following Meghan’s way” in “developing his own truth about things”.

Ms Levin called this “ridiculous” and claimed that Harry and Meghan “don’t seem to mind” whether what they say is true or not as “it’s their truth”.

She added that, in reference to the comments about his mental health, she is “disappointed” that Harry would say “that as if nobody cared about him”.

In their explosive 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple also spoke of a decline in Meghan’s own mental health during her time as a senior royal.

They claimed that, despite speaking out, she was refused help.
