Darren McGrady revealed that Her Majesty likes her meat cooked well done. Mr McGrady was a personal chef to the Queen, Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry for fifteen years.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, the royal chef explained that for the Easter Sunday roast, the Queen enjoys the outer bits as they are the most well-done pieces.

He said: “We’d go straight into the main course – a traditional roast lamb with seasonal vegetables.

“The Queen likes her meat well done so she’d always have the first two slices.”

The Queen is also said to not like meals which have too many starchy carbs.

Mr McGrady explained that Her Majesty steers clear of pasta and never has rice or potatoes on the Palace menu.

Speaking to Recipes Plus, the royal chef added: “We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions.

“We also couldn’t serve meat that was rare, as she liked her meat more well done.”

Mr McGrady described how the Royal Family liked to eat seasonal food.

He said the Queen would “put a really thick line through the menu” if she did not think something was in season.

Mr McGrady added: “The most incredible sweet white Windsor peaches grew on the estate too in my day.

“We’d have to lock them away in the kitchens because everyone wanted to taste them.

“The Queen always looked forward to those but she’d have to wait until they were in season.”

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also once revealed that the Royal Family steer clear of garlic.

During an appearance on MasterChef Australia, when asked what royals will not eat, Camilla said: “I hate to say this, but garlic. Garlic is a no-no.”
