The future King and wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, were visiting Wheatley Housing Group in Glasgow, to “see first-hand how they are transforming the lives of disadvantaged or vulnerable people, including those at risk of homelessness”, Kensington Palace said. Many of those present were emotional during the visit and Prince William, in an eye-catching move, broke royal protocol by hugging a sobbing pensioner. Named as William Burns, the man was one of many in the crowd who had turned out to see the Cambridges during their one-day visit to the city. The Cambridges then joined a mother-of-four on the sofa in her living room in her rental property, where her four-year-old son showed his toys, and Kate told him: “Louis, our little boy, loves Spider-Man too.”
