Sarah Ferguson snub: Eugenie WON’T ‘spoil’ royal baby – ‘Quite the opposite of her mum’

Sarah Ferguson promotes her first historical romance novel

Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank are currently weeks away from welcoming their royal baby, the Queen’s ninth great-grandchild. The Duchess of York’s daughter will follow royal tradition and announce the baby’s arrival to Her Majesty before anyone else finds out, but she is likely to choose an unconventional upbringing for her child, a royal author has predicted.

Ingrid Seward, author of Prince Philip Revealed: A Man Of His Century, said Princess Eugenie’s baby will not be raised with the duties of a royal.

She told “I think Eugenie will want to shield her child and offer as normal a life as possible.

“I don’t think the child will face any responsibilities within the family, as he or she will be too far down the line.”

Ms Seward explained that Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, were given everything they wanted when they were younger.

She said: “They spent most of their time with their mother Sarah, and are very loyal and loving to her.

“They were pretty indulged as children and had everything they wanted.

“I think they had a garden shed just for their Barbie dolls.”

However, the royal author pointed out Eugenie was not “an extravagant person” like her mother, adding that she is “quite the opposite of her mum.”

She added: “She won’t spoil her child, but I think she’ll want her child to be her friend.”

Another major difference that will set apart her childhood from her child is that the royal baby will not be a prince or princess, or use the HRH style.

Other royals who were born without the HRH title include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison, and Princess Anne’s children, Zara and Peter.

Recently, a royal insider confirmed that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are expecting the arrival of their baby next month, sending royal fans on Twitter into frenzy.
