Meghan Markle provided unprecedented insight into her and Prince Harry’s private life in a new tell-all interview with Variety magazine. The Duchess of Sussex’s far-reaching talk with the publication has touched extensively on her experience after leaving the Royal Family’s senior working ranks for the US. Express.co.uk has rounded up some of the most notable moments from her interview.

Meghan loves a rom-com

The Duchess of Sussex spoke about her love of film while touching on her and Prince Harry’s plans for Archewell.

She told Variety she had probably watched 90’s classic When Harry Met Sally “a million times”.

The royal added that she would like to bring back the era of Julia Roberts rom-coms.

Harry’s favourite fast food is In-n-Out

The Duchess revealed that she and her husband are “commuters” to Los Angeles and regularly snack.

They enjoy snacking while on the move, and their favourite foods include chocolate chip cookies.

She added that Prince Harry’s favourite fast food takeaway is American burger joint In-N-Out.

Harry and Meghan ‘feel joyful’

The royal couple has pursued privacy since moving to the US, where they are seeking “joy”, the Duchess confirmed.

She said that was “everything” they aim to work towards for themselves and their two children, three-year-old Archie and one-year-old Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.

They have already achieved that goal, she added, as they do “feel joyful”.

Meghan wants people to see her as a ‘real person’

The Duchess of Sussex hopes that her podcast Archetypes will change how people see her.

She revealed that, among the “noise”, people become “dehumanised”.

She added she wants the podcast to help people think she’s “a real person”.

Meghan would never go back to acting

Before marrying Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex worked as an actress in the US.

Her most famous role was as Rachel Zane on legal drama Suits, and she has now ruled out ever returning to the industry.

While saying “never say never”, she said she intended to “absolutely not” act again.

Meghan believes actors can only ever portray a ‘caricature’ of her

Interest in the Royal Family has already seen the Duchess portrayed on screen in the 2018 film ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance’.

But actors will never truly represent her, as they can only create a “caricature” for business purposes.

She said it was a “hard lesson” to separate herself from her dramatic portrayals.
