Speculation has arisen as to whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will do any publicity ahead of the release of their new Netflix series. Speaking on GB News, royal author Tom Bower claimed that he had “news for America tonight” and stated that the couple have a “whole slate of interviews lined up”.

Mr Bower, author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, told GB News: “[The docuseries] starts in about two and a half weeks.

“Of course, after that, the book will leak.

“So there’s a whole campaign on the way.”

Speaking of the “whole slate of interviews lined up”, the author added: “This is just a curtain razor to Meghan.

“The great, great Meghan, the great campaigner.

“It’s really quite ugly.”

Mr Bower, speaking of the Royal Family, said: “In the middle, absolutely defenceless, is the British Royal Family and Britain’s reputation”.

People.com recently dropped confirmation that the Sussexes’ show will hit Netflix in December 2022.

Despite this, it was earlier reported that Netflix was so “rattled” by the backlash they had received from The Crown, in particular season five, they had moved the release of the Sussexes’ docuseries to 2023.

When questioned about the docuseries in her Variety interview, Meghan said: “It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story – a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired.

“Even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it. But that’s not why we’re telling it.

“We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed the lucrative multi-million dollar deal with Netflix shortly after their royal exit in 2020.

The couple are yet to release any content as a means to, as they declared, “work to become financially independent”.

The Duchess of Sussex was set to produce an animated series titled Pearl but the project was later shelved.

The Duke is believed to have been working on a documentary focussed on his work setting up and expanding the Invictus Games.
