Teenager charged with murder after boy, 16, stabbed to death outside school in Luton

A teenager has been charged with murder after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death outside a school in Luton.

Humza Hussain, 16, was found with multiple knife wounds near Challney High School for Boys in Stoneygate Road at around 4pm on 8 June.

He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead two hours later.

A 16-year-old boy from Luton will appear in court this week charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

He remains in police custody.

A second teenager arrested on suspicion of violent disorder has been released on bail.

Humza’s family said they were “extremely saddened” and “heartbroken” by his death and it should “never have happened”.

“He was a young boy with his whole life ahead of him,” they said in a statement.

“He was a much-loved son, grandson and brother and it is a very sad loss for us as a family.”

Detective Inspector Iain Macpherson, of Bedfordshire Police, said the force is still looking to speak to anyone with further information.

“Our hearts go out to Humza’s family at this incredibly difficult time,” he said.

“We are absolutely determined to bring those responsible for this shocking attack to justice.

“We are really keen to hear from anyone who has any information about this appalling incident. You can get in touch with us online, or you can leave information anonymously if you so wish.”
