The MAJOR flaw in Meghan and Harry’s plan that will mean the Duke cannot work in the US

TalkRADIO host Mike Graham was discussing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to move to North America with royal expert Ingrid Seward. Ms Seward predicted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would settle in New York or California, however, the royal expert pointed out that Prince Harry has yet to obtain a green card meaning he cannot work in the USA.

Ms Seward said: “They will probably live in New York or California eventually but then you have all the problems with the residency and the taxes.

“So there is a huge amount to be sorted out.”

Mr Graham asked: “He won’t be exempt from taxes in America presumably will he?”

The royal expert replied: “No and he also doesn’t have a green card so officially he is not allowed to work there.

“There are all kinds of problems!

“Where will they actually be residents?”

Mr Graham replied: “I think you’re absolutely right, the story will continue to rattle on.”

Yesterday royal historian Dr Anna Whitlock told talkRADIO’s Mike Graham Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attempted to “cash in on the royal brand” despite deciding to “check out” of the Royal Family.

The talkRADIO host asked: “The Queen has banned Harry and Meghan from using Sussex Royal as a brand name, this is quite a blow for them isn’t it?”

Dr Whitlock replied: “It is and I think it is something that they wouldn’t have seen coming.

“They went large on the launch of Sussex Royal, brands, the website, their Instagram feed and were very much hoping to check out of the royal family but potentially cash in on the royal brand.

“But the Queen and Buckingham Palace have made it absolutely clear that it is not going to be an option for them.”

Mr Graham said: “I said this would have to happen when they decided to take their leave of the Royal Family and disappear off to Canada.

“There were two things that I said, one I don’t think they will be back and two I can’t really see how it is possible for the Royal Family to allow them to use this brand name because it is effectively capitalising on being part of the royal family which they have just left.”

Dr Whitlock responded: “Yeah I think that is absolutely right, although they may not have been about to endorse certain products with the royal brand certainly when they speak out or make certain statements on their website it was under the umbrella of Sussex Royal.

“That is just simply not a sustainable thing, the royal brand and the royal trademark is something particularly prized and precious.

“This, as you say, was seen as a sort of corruption of that brand and it risks commercialisation of it.”
