A photograph was tweeted by Cardiff Online that explained how the “John Lewis Cardiff Christmas shop 2021 opens to customers.” The building of a Christmas display in the Cardiff store October has now divided opinion amongst Britons. The John Lewis Christmas display usually symbolises the start of the seasonal shopping period.

The display in the Cardiff store is inspired by British scenery.

It is called the “2021’s John Lewis Christmas”, and the store put it together with the help of the overnight team.

Customers were able to view the display when the store opened its doors on Monday.

On Twitter, a user by the name of “Mungo’s Mouthpiece” stated: “Beautiful, but it will all be for nothing if John Lewis continues with its ‘woke’ adverts.”

Twitter user Emma Grant loved the idea and said: “Yeah!”

Another Twitter follower called Carwyn Templeton said: “Yeah… good.”

However, the user added a “rolling eyes” emoji to the tweet.

However, another user on Twitter railed against the move by the major retailer.

A Twitter user called Titfortat Croachet said: “It’s mid-October.

“The leaves have only just started falling.

“It’s over 2 months until Christmas.”

Cliff Vanstone, Head of Branch at Cardiff’s John Lewis said: “We are so excited to be opening our Christmas shop here at John Lewis Cardiff / Caerdydd.
