As he was attending the premiere of the latest James Bond movie with his wife Kate, Prince William was dressed in an impeccable black velvet jacket, matching pants and a white shirt adorned by a bow tie. All eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge’s regal and sparkly gown, who made it to the banner headlines of most papers in the country on Wednesday morning.
To answer the question of royal admirers and menswear enthusiasts, the DailyMail tracked down which shoes George’s father was wearing on the red carpet.
“Prince William apparently wore a £400 pair of Arthur Sleep black cashmere shoes [handmade in England] to the ‘No Time To Die’ premiere last night,” reported Rebecca English.
William has been wearing Arthur Sleep’s Black Cashmere Slippers since 2015 and they have become his go-to shoes for formal events.
“Established in London, Arthur Sleep creates the finest slippers in the world, exclusively handmade in England”, reads the brand’s website.
“Each pair is created by artisans that draw on over 500 years of handcrafting tradition, representing British design and handmade craftsmanship at its most refined.”
The company’s founder, Jahangir Azam, was even invited by PEOPLE magazine to comment on Prince William’s style after the monarch attended a London gala in 2019 wearing a £285 Reiss green velvet jacket.
“I think it shows that he has a real modern flair to wear a stylish green jacket like that,” the founder of Arthur Sleep told PEOPLE.
“Traditionally, a velvet jacket is the sign of an elegant gentleman — it’s great that he’s showing the versatility of evening wear.”
Commenting on William’s traditional outfit he wore during his tour in Pakistan in 2019, Mr Arfeen told People: “It doesn’t seem like he was wearing something for the first time.”
“He knows how to handle it and carry it. That was simply superb.”
“It was my pleasure to design something for the royal prince,” Arfeen added.
“That was a dream come true.”

Prince Harry is also a fan of the brand and reportedly owns three pairs of their signature slippers.
As a wedding present, the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry gave him a pair of bespoke velvet slippers from Arthur Sleep, hand-embroidered with the regiment’s eagle cypher.
Meghan Markle was gifted a matching pair too.
