Urgent manhunt after victim pushed onto Tube tracks

Police have released an image of a man they urgently want to track down after two terrifying incidents in the space of 10 minutes in London.

A man assaulted a victim at Baker Street station at 11.50am today.

Shortly after midday, the same attacker pushed another man onto the tracks at Finchley Road station. Neither victim was seriously injured.

A manhunt has been launched to trace the assailant. It is not currently thought that any of the people involved were known to each other.

British Transport Police have published a CCTV image of a man they are looking to identify.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to get in touch immediately.

Detective Inspector Paul Watts said: ‘Following these concerning incidents, we want to trace this man at the earliest opportunity and we are appealing for the public’s help to establish his whereabouts.

‘If you see someone matching this image, please contact police urgently by calling 999 and referencing 517 of 27/10/22. Please do not approach them.

‘This investigation is moving at pace and we would like to reassure the public that we’ll have a highly visible presence of officers on the network in London throughout this evening looking out for your safety.’
