With the coronavirus pandemic having severely impacted travel plans this year, many have opted for a staycation over the summer – and Boris Johnson is no exception.
The Prime Minister has remained on these shores to take a break with fiancee Carrie Symonds and their four-month-old son Wilfred.
But where have they gone – and when is he coming back?
Here’s what you need to know…
Where is Boris Johnson?
The Prime Minister is currently taking a holiday in Scotland, with reports that he is on a camping trip.
His break comes amid the outcry over A-level results, with an algorithm used to calculate this year’s grades following the cancellation of exams leading to around 40% of results being downgraded.
The Government has now performed a U-turn on the results and has said the grades will be reissued based on teacher assessments following the controversy.
A No.10 spokesperson has said that despite being away, Mr Johnson chaired a conference call with Education Secretary Gavin Williamson on Monday – but has no plans to cut short his holiday.
‘The Prime Minister will be kept up to date and will continue to receive updates and briefings as necessary,’ a spokesperson for Downing Street has said.
When will Boris Johnson be back?
Mr Johnson is expected to be back from his holiday next week.
However the exact date of his return has not been confirmed.
