The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex released a lengthy statement via their Archewell website stating that they were “speechless” over the humanitarian crises. Royal commentator Robert Jobson took aim at the couple. He claimed: “It’s more woke nonsense from Princess Meghan and Prince Harry that nobody really actually is listening to.”
Viewers took to social media to express their views on Mr Jobson’s opinion.
One person tweeted: “They will probably be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey and spend two hours explaining how they are speechless.”
Another person added: “Craving for attention all the time. Pathetic.”
One user wrote: “I don’t listen to anything they say.”
A fourth commenter added: “They are irrelevant. Please won’t someone go and tell them, to just keep quiet and enjoy their seclusion away from publicity.”
Harry and Meghan’s said they hoped to lend their “support” to troops who fought in Afghanistan and Afghan people “facing violence and terror”.
Their statement reads: “The world is exceptionally fragile right now. As we all feel the many layers of pain due to the situation in Afghanistan, we are left speechless.
“As we all watch the growing humanitarian disaster in Haiti, and the threat of it worsening after last weekend’s earthquake, we are left heartbroken.
“And as we all witness the continuing global health crisis, exacerbated by new variants and constant misinformation, we are left scared.”
