A vacant Lower East Side lot that is zoned commercial and residential — and where famed street artist Banksy once painted — is on the market for $2.49 million.

In 2013, Banksy used the site as part of his residency on the streets of New York CIty, creating a piece condemning the US role in the Iraq War.

In 2019, a public art project streamed live video of the Earth from a NASA satellite in the space.

The property, which has 25 feet of frontage on Ludlow Street, allows for the building of 4,271 square feet and legal parking for six cars.

The listing brokers are Stephen Dadourian, Chris Brodhead, Nikola Cosic and Jonathan Buerger of B6 Real Estate Advisors.

The neighborhood has recently seen a surge in development with 1,500 units of new residences and 600 new hotel rooms.

Dogecoin Creator Jackson Palmer Says He Will Not Return To Cryptocurrency

Jackson Palmer, the co-creator of the meme-inspired cryptocurrency dogecoin, has said that he will not return to cryptocurrency.

“I am often asked if I will “return to cryptocurrency” or begin regularly sharing my thoughts on the topic again. My answer is a wholehearted “no”, but to avoid repeating myself I figure it might be worthwhile briefly explaining why here…” Palmer tweeted.

Dogecoin was created by software engineers Billy Markus and Palmer and was released 7 years ago on December 6, 2013. The pair decided to create the cryptocurrency as a joke, making fun of the wild speculation in cryptocurrencies at the time. Dogecoin features the face of the Shiba Inu dog from the “Doge” meme as its logo and namesake.

Recently, the cryptocurrency has become very popular and is one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market value. Dogecoin now has a market value of roughly $54 billion dollars. Earlier this year, it hit an all-time high of nearly $0.74.

Meanwhile, bitcoin, the most popular cryptocurrency among the lot, peaked over $63,000 in mid-April, before losing over half of its value. It is currently trading at $31,000.

Crude Oil Futures Decline Sharply Again, Settle At One-month Low

Crude oil prices declined sharply on Thursday, sending the most active crude futures contracts to their lowest close in nearly a month, amid rising concerns about outlook for energy demand and likely excess supply in the market.

Worries about demand have resurfaced due to the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus and possibility of fresh economic restrictions in several places across the world.

There are concerns that a compromise deal between leading OPEC producers could result in a sharp increase in oil supply into an extremely tight market.

West Texas Intermediate Crude oil futures for August ended down by $1.48 or about 2% at $71.65 a barrel, the lowest settlement since June 18.

Brent crude futures were down $1.45 or nearly 2% at $73.31 a barrel a little while ago.

A Reuters report said Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had reached a compromise on production levels.

Meanwhile, the UAE energy minister said in a statement on Wednesday that an agreement with OPEC+ regarding its position on an extension of an oil supply deal has not been reached yet, and that deliberations and consultations are going on.

American Airlines cancels flight attendants' voluntary leaves, plans to hire 800 to meet travel demand

American Airlines expects the travel boom to last beyond this summer.

The carrier has told the remaining 3,300 flight attendants on voluntary leave to come back by November or December and that it will and start recruiting new cabin crew members, according to a note to staff sent Thursday, which was reviewed by CNBC.

"Increasing customer demand and new routes starting later this year mean we need more flight attendants to operate the airline," said the note.
