Merchants Trust Plc (MRCH.L) reported a loss on ordinary activities before tax of 68.25 million pounds for the year ended 31 January 2021 compared to profit of 96.38 million pounds, prior year. Loss per share was was 57.87 pence compared to profit of 87.57 pence. On a revenue basis, profit on ordinary activities before tax declined to 21.92 million pounds from 32.67 million pounds, while earnings per ordinary share was 18.51 pence compared to 29.67 pence.

For the fiscal year, income was 24.91 million pounds compared to 36.24 million pounds, previous year.

The Group proposed a final quarterly dividend for shareholder approval of 6.8 pence which means for 2020 an increased full-year dividend of 27.2 pence.

Norwegian Air to raise more money than planned, CEO says

OSLO, April 14 (Reuters) – Norwegian Air now aims to raise up to 6 billion crowns ($711 million) in fresh capital before emerging from bankruptcy protection next month, more than the 4.5 billion originally planned, the company said on Wednesday.

“We want to take a conservative approach at a time when the pandemic and travel restrictions continue to create unpredictability in the travel sector,” Chief Executive Jacob Schram said in a statement.

This is the country’s largest car maker’s highest-ever S-CNG car sales.

Country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki on April 14 said it sold over 1.57 lakh factory-fitted S-CNG vehicles in the last financial year, its highest-ever S-CNG car sales.

The company offers factory-fitted CNG options for its cars, including Alto, Celerio, Wagon-R, S-PRESSO, Eeco, Ertiga, Tour S and Super Carry.

“We see CNG as a technology that has set a new benchmark in green fuel mobility…CNG is becoming one of the most preferred alternative fuels due to its economic cost of running (as compared with the high prices of petrol and diesel) and improved CNG filling infrastructure,” Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said.

Andrew Haber, a 25-year industry veteran of the international sales business, has died aged 55, according to his family.

Haber worked his entire career at Alfred Haber Distribution, the New Jersey-based company owned by his uncle Alfred Haber. He oversaw sales for the TV and film company in territories including Latin America, Asia and Europe.

His professionalism, kind words, magnetic smile and caring personality touched all he met, and will not be forgotten. Andrew will be sorely missed by us all.”
